First Offical Poem of the Week!

Posted by: marijagt on: February 22, 2009

So here it is – the poem you’ve all been waiting for. (I hope :P )

Like a snow globe being shaken

from the clouds white flakes awaken

So slowly drifting, dancing, falling

to the seasons – winter is calling

But not all is peaceful; snows blowing round

burying all we know in a white ‘underground’

Watching from our windows we

realize that its hard to see

Its more peaceful than we believe

So as we dream of warmer times

know that the season we’re in

will do just fine.

So there it is. I was kinda inspired by yesterday’s super snowstorm. The wind was really blowing the flakes around. I tried to capture part of the idea of being a kid in the evening staring outside at the snow. I hoped you enjoy reading this poem! (And I also hope you’re not snowed in!)

Good imagery – it made me consider that when we sit inside watching the snow fall that we have this sense of peace or calm. Meanwhile, there’s a lot of chaos out there in the falling flakes!

I liked it as well. It made me sigh!
